Exhaust Valve Delete Plug – Why Is It Useful?
🔧 What Is It?
The Exhaust Valve Delete Plug allows you to correctly terminate the wiring loom connected to your car’s exhaust valve.
It’s a simple Plug & Play solution, especially useful if you:
-
are using an aftermarket performance exhaust system,
-
want to remove the factory exhaust valve, or
-
your valve is malfunctioning and causing fault codes.
❗ Why Do You Need It?
✅ Avoid Fault Codes and System Limitations
If the valve is not working properly, the ECU may throw a fault code and display the message:
“Drive Modes Not Available” – which means certain driving functions will stop working.
The Delete Plug simulates a functional valve, making the ECU think everything is working as it should. The result:
💡 no warning lights, no restrictions.
✅ Retain All Driving Modes
Drive Mode selection (e.g. Normal, Sport, Track) remains fully functional.
Your car won’t enter limp mode or reduce performance.
✅ Perfect for Tuned or Modified Exhausts
Aftermarket cat-back or axle-back exhausts often don’t use the factory valve.
The Delete Plug allows your exhaust to operate freely, unleashing its true sound, without triggering electronic faults.
⚙️ How Does It Work?
-
The plug includes an internal circuit that properly terminates the exhaust valve wiring
-
Takes less than 2 minutes to install
-
If any fault codes already exist, you’ll need to clear them after installation – no new codes will appear
🛠️ Installation Guide
-
Turn off the engine and remove the key
-
Locate the exhaust valve connector (near the muffler)
-
Disconnect the factory plug and connect the terminator in its place
-
If necessary, clear existing fault codes using an OBD2 tool
💬 Does It Affect Performance?
No. It does not alter the car’s tuning or engine parameters, but it prevents electrical issues and gives you full control over your exhaust system.
